This is a 2023 reissue vinyl LP pressing of Drumfusion by Chico Hamilton Quintet. The American jazz drummer originally released his album in 1962, via Columbia Records. Produced by Irving Townsend and Teo Macero, the album features Charles Lloyd, Gábor Szabó, Garnett Brown (replaced soon after by George Bohanon) and Albert Stinson, performing what has been described by Joachim E. Berendt as “a moderate avant-gardism”. This release contains the first album by this band, Drumfusion, in its entirety, plus the only known alternate take from the session and one additional bonus track.
