The solid body electric bass guitar was invented by Leo Fender with the introduction of the Precision Bass in 1951. This is the iconic bass guitar that started it all. The Standard Precision is today’s take on the classic old school P bass design. This timeless incarnation of the Standard P Bass has a nicely balanced maple neck with a modern "C" shape. While many Fender instruments have maple necks and fretboards, the sleeker feel and detailed sound of the pau ferro fretboard adds a touch of class to this P Bass. With a lightweight and resonant alder body, the pau ferro fretboard with jumbo frets and the classic split coil P-Bass pickup that’s been driving rhythm sections for over 65 years, it has the look, feel and sound that modern players demand, at an affordable price.
