The Gibson P-90 is one of the most iconic pickups around. It wasn't always held in such high regard though, there was a time when the P-90 was considered a low budget alternative to real humbuckers even though it is actually a single coil pick up. They appeared mostly on Gibson's mid-level instruments, as well as on some Epiphone models. But the P-90 has come into its own because of it's ability to can deliver plenty of top end response and cut through any mix. But once you roll off the highs, the P-90 will give you the tones normally associated with humbuckers. P-90s come in two styles: Soapbar (for solidbody guitars) and "Dog Ear" (for hollowbody guitars). This one is a Soapbar model, suited to Les Pauls, SG's etc.
