The American Original Series guitars from Fender capture the classic vibe of their legendary guitars of bygone decades, with modern features, components, build technology, and feel. Leo Fender's Telecaster was the world's first production model solidbody electric guitar. It brought the guitar to the front as a mainstream instrument, with players praising it for its affordable price, trendsetting looks and reliability. The Fender American Original '50s Telecaster pays due homage to the classic '52 model. The strong, straight-grained ash body with single-ply phenolic pickguard and brass barrel saddles are all period correct, as is the U shaped "baseball bat" maple neck, maple fingerboard with vintage-tall frets and black dot inlays. For the modern players though. it now has a comfortable 9.5"" radius fretboard (increased from the old 7.25"), which minimizes fretting out as you move up the neck. The Pure Vintage '52 pickups have been painstakingly recreated to produce that authentic woody Tele twang, from the fibre bobbins and Alnico III magnets right down to the enamel-coated coil wire and cloth-covered output wires. The steel base plates are even copper-plated for authenticity. For a modern guitar with '50s inspiration, you won't find better than the Fender American Original '50s Telecaster.
