This is a vinyl LP pressing of Live At The Village Vanguard by John Coltrane. It includes the legendary track "Chasin' the Trane" and more. This definitive version captures a recording that famously questioned jazz norms. The original three-track set pushed boundaries, most notably on the standout item "Chasin' the Trane." Lasting 16 minutes, the piece features Coltrane as the sole soloist, leaving a 12-bar grid as the only anchor for performers and fans alike. "Spiritual" marks the first time Coltrane opened and closed a piece entirely out-of-tempo, while the more conventional "Softly, As In A Morning Sunrise" begins with over three minutes of the rhythm trio before his soprano solo takes flight.
